Fashion as a Climate Solution

In partnership with DIRT, World Collective is putting sourcing infrastructure behind one of fashion's most urgent missions.

Learn more about the partnership

About

DIRT is a global charity working to turn fashion into a climate solution, by bringing the sourcing power of the industry behind soil regeneration worldwide.

Fashion is grown in soil. Wool, cotton, silk, linen, leather — every raw material we source starts in the ground. The way the industry currently grows these materials causes tremendous harm to soil, accelerates biodiversity loss, and is a direct driver of climate change.

DIRT works with biodynamic agriculture, the most rigorous nature-based approach to farming and processing, as the path to reversing that damage.

Their mission is clear: grow and process all of fashion's raw materials biodynamically, turning what we wear into a regenerative force rather than a destructive one.

 World Collective × DIRT

Two ecosystems. One conviction.

World Collective is built to connect every layer of fashion's supply chain. DIRT is working to transform what that supply chain is made of. Together, we are aligning sourcing infrastructure with climate action, making it easier for brands to find, verify, and work with suppliers who are building fashion differently, from the ground up.

The Standard

Where the Work Becomes Verifiable

The first concrete step in our partnership is the recognition of the Demeter Standard in World Collective's sourcing criteria.

What is Demeter?

Demeter is a 100-year-old international certification for biodynamic agriculture, and the original ecological quality mark for food, wine, and now textiles. DIRT is working with Demeter to develop ten new certification standards for fibres, dyestuffs, and leather — fashion's most critical raw materials.

What World Collective Has Adopted

World Collective recognises the Demeter Standard as part of our sourcing criteria. Suppliers and materials certified under this framework are identified within our ecosystem, giving brands a clear, verified signal of biodynamic integrity across the supply chain.

Why it Matters

Standards only create change when the market acts on them. By embedding the Demeter Standard into our infrastructure, World Collective helps turn certification from a label into a sourcing decision, connecting demand with the producers already doing the work.

Sourcing That Gives Back to the Earth

This partnership is built for the long term. As DIRT and Demeter bring new standards to life across fibres, dyestuffs, and leather, World Collective will be the infrastructure that connects those standards to global buyers.

This is sourcing with purpose, built into the platform.
